Important Considerations (Precautions)

• Open Circuit Risk: If the SAI143 module is turned off or fails, the current input loop becomes open-circuited. Therefore, you should not share the current signal with other signal-receiving instruments in a series loop.

• Power Supply Limitations: In 2-wire settings, the transmitter power supply ON/OFF function applies to all 16 channels simultaneously. Individual channel power control is not available.

• Channel Restrictions: When operated in ambient temperatures exceeding 60 °C, the number of usable input channels may be restricted to prevent overheating. Consult the ProSafe-RS technical manual for the specific derating curve.

• Isolation Requirements: While the module provides isolation, no Zener barriers should be connected directly to it. An external isolation barrier must be used if an intrinsic safety (IS) instrumented system is required.
