The IR425-D4-2 belongs to a family of insulation monitoring devices (IMDs) that utilize the patented AMP (Adaptive Measuring Pulse) measurement principle. This technology allows the device to adapt to the system leakage capacitance, ensuring accurate measurements even in networks with high interference or significant electronic components. It monitors the insulation resistance between the ungrounded system conductors and the equipment grounding conductor (PE). If the resistance falls below a pre-set response value, the device triggers an alarm through its integrated changeover relays.
