Peking University and Jaka Robotics Jointly Establish a General-Purpose Intelligent Robot Joint Laboratory
Jul 20, 2026On July 16, Peking University and Jaka Robotics signed a cooperation agreement in Beijing to jointly establish the "PKU-Jaka Joint Laboratory for General-Purpose Intelligent Robots" (hereinafter referred to as the "Joint Laboratory"). The two parties will focus on the fundamental theories and key technologies of embodied intelligence, aiming to enhance the autonomous operational capabilities of general-purpose intelligent robots and advance their industrial application.

Duan Huiling—Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice President of Peking University, and Dean of the College of Engineering (Undergraduate College) at Peking University—attended the signing ceremony alongside other university and corporate leaders and key research personnel. Attendees included Song Jie, Party Secretary of the School of Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics; Chen Wei, Party Secretary of the College of Engineering (Undergraduate College); Ma Lan, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering; Zhao Shuru, Director of the Intellectual Property Office at Peking University’s Office of Science and Technology Development; faculty representatives from the School of Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics; as well as Li Mingyang, Chairman of JAKA Robotics, Xu Xiong, Vice President, and Hua Lei, Deputy Dean of the JAKA Research Institute. Together, they witnessed this significant milestone in the establishment of the joint laboratory.
