ABB has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with industrial decarbonization company Alcemy to jointly explore AI-based solutions for assessing the quality of cement and concrete. By combining ABB’s expertise in automation and process control with Alcemy’s predictive technology, the agreement aims to optimize cement production processes globally while reducing emissions.

Integrating predictive quality insights into plant operations lies at the heart of this collaboration. Alcemy’s solution extracts process and quality data from the ABB Knowledge Manager (KM), analyzes it using machine learning models, and feeds setpoints back to the ABB Ability™ Expert Optimizer (EO). This closed-loop approach aims to improve product consistency and overall plant performance, helping operators better manage fluctuations in the production process.
